We built our home in the mid 1990’s. We converted the attic to provide more living accommodation a number years ago. It quickly became clear that our existing oil fired / back boiler heating system was not capable of heating the entire house. We considered updating the oil fired heating system over the following years.

Finally we decided to invest in some long term green upgrades. Following the introduction of the SEAI’s ‘One Stop Shops’ we decided that this was the best option for us. The main advantage for us was dealing with one contractor who will engage the various subcontractors to complete the work. We decided to engage Integrate Home Energy as they are a locally based company.

The initial contact was made through the SEAI website. Very quickly thereafter Integrate contacted us to carry out the initial assessment. Following this assessment we received a comprehensive report detailing the proposed works with a provisionally costing. We decided to go for a full deep retrofit. This incorporated new windows, doors, radiators, air to water heat pump, solar panels, internal and external insulation and the installation of an electric car charging point.

Once we had decided on the work a start was agreed. It was an intense period of work of approximately eight to ten weeks to complete the entire retrofit. All contractors were efficient and facilitated any requests we had.

For us the main benefits were that we were dealing with one contractor and had one point of contact with any queries or issues. This contact person was readily available, visited the site regularly and responded quickly to any queries. We are extremely pleased with the retrofit, the service received and the quality of the work.
